MY REVIEW

I am not exactly an Ancient Rome scholar so even I learned a ton from this book! Aiden has always been especially interested in battles and war and so he found this book fascinating. Each page is full of pictures and short blurbs of information. You can pick and choose bits to read without getting lost. I found this very handy because often Aiden would just point to a picture and say "what is this about" and I could read him that particular paragraph.

I have been incredibly impressed with both of the Eye Wonder books we have reviewed. They would make amazing class textbooks- interesting, fun to look at and read, and full of information. They are written in an amazingly age-appropriate way, even when talking about the battles of Ancient Rome. I appreciated the glossary at the end of the book because tactical weaponry isn't exactly my specialty.

As we were reading this book Aiden was fully engaged- which for a kid with ADHD and Autism is impressive. I heard a lot of "that is SO cool!" and "ya look at that guy" and even a couple of "can we go there mom?" which is always a good sign.

Eye Wonder does an excellent job of making learning fun and I highly recommend them! There are tons of topics to choose from so there is something for everyone. Here are just a few of the available topics:

- Arctic and Antarctic
-Big Cats
-Castle and Knight
-Rain Forest
-Space
-Ocean
-Human Body
-Pirate

Aiden wants to get the Space on next and Owen was very intrigued with the Pirate and Castle and Knight books :). What could be better than books that get kids interested in reading more books?!

Thanks so much to DK Canada for sending us a review copy of this book.
