Good Person Guidebook

About the Book (taken from Amazon.com)

The focus of The Good Person Guidebook is to help you discover the answers to two key questions: "What type of person should you be?" and "What should you do given a decision of ethical importance?" Richard Bayer provides important advice on a multitude of topics including what makes a person happy, how to overcome suffering, love in your personal life, raising children well, a meaningful work life, and respecting human dignity.

This book is divided into three main sections:
--A Perspective on Ethics
--Virtue: What type of person should I be
--Guidelines: what must we do

About the Author

Dr. Richard Bayer has appeared on the TODAY Show, CNN, Good Day New York, and in Fortune magazine, the Wall Street Journal and other major media. Dr. Bayer has a background of 22 years of teaching at the University level in economics and ethics. He has authored a book and 18 articles on labor economics.

My Review

I found this book very easy to read and follow. Bayer's points are clearly laid out and simple to grasp. I thoroughly enjoyed his use of quotes. Bayer includes study guide questions at the end of each section which is helpful. This is a largely secular book based on religious principals and geared toward the business world. I think many of the principals Bayer outlines can relate to the non-business world as well.
