Guided By Him is a 12-week Christian weight-loss program you can do by yourself or with others.In Guided By Him (GBH) you’ll find 12 weekly lessons filled with Bible studies, practical weight-loss tips and inspiring success stories. There are also five Quiet Times for each of the 12 weeks. By spending just a few minutes reading GBH every morning, you’ll be ready to meet your day in a whole new way!
GBH is perfect for individual Bible study, family meetings, Sunday School classes, Bible study groups, lunch breaks at work or friendly neighborhood get-togethers.
If you want to start a group, all you need is a copy of Guided By Him and one for each member. You don’t need experience leading groups or success at losing weight. There can be between two and 20 members in a group. Weekly classes can be as short as 30 minutes or as long as two hours. The length depends on how much time you want to spend.

I have not actually completed the Guided By Him 12-week program but I DO think it would be an excellent way to lose weight. The book is super easy to read and understand. I love that it incorporates our relationship with Christ into our weight loss goals and reminds us to rely on God's strength rather than our own willpower. Throughout the book there are "Quiet Times" suggested and continual reminders that spiritual health is just as important as our physical health. I especially enjoyed the reminder to "seek God instead of seeking something to eat". A very important lesson for all of us to learn but especially those of us who struggle with emotional eating. I think this would be a fun course to follow with a group of supportive friends. I think I will even give this program a try once I get my courage up to try losing weight again :)
