Ballet for Beginners *review*

Prima Princessa's Ballet for Beginners: Featuring the School of American Ballet

by Mary Kate Mellow and Stephanie Troeller

-information taken from www.PrimaPrincessa.com

Come join me and explore the wonderful world of ballet!

Prima Princessa invites you to come with her to a pre-ballet class, where the littlest dancers learn about creative movement, musicality, and pantomime.

Then it’s on to the School of American Ballet, the official academy of the New York City Ballet.

Here you’ll visit SAB’s Children’s Ballet Division, where they demonstrate the basics of ballet, and the Advanced Ballet classes, where dancers work on more complicated steps.

Finally, you’ll get to see one special ballerina prepare to go onstage!
She’s putting on her makeup, straightening her costume, and making sure every hair is in place. And you’re the audience for her dress rehearsal.

So . . . are YOU ready to step into the wonderful world of ballet?

MY REVIEW

Ballet for Beginners is a lovely book- perfect for any aspiring ballerina. There is a ton of  fascinating information enhanced by fabulous pictures. I know very little about ballet and I learned a lot reading this book!. Olivia is too young to really care much about the words but she enjoyed the cartoon fairy and looking at all the pictures of pretty ballerinas. I think she will enjoy it more when she is a bit older. She did try to imitate quite a few of the dance moves pictured after we looked at the book.

Ballet for Beginners is very easy to read and 100% kid-friendly. It would make a delightful gift for those little ballerinas in your life.

Thanks so much to Prima Princessa for sending me a review copy of this book.
