Beyond the Edge review & GIVEAWAY!! CLOSED

This giveaway is CLOSED. Congratulations to Jennifer @ Quiverfull Family for winning!

Beyond the edge (taken from publisher's website)

One woman's journey out of post-natal depression and anxiety

Hazel Rolston

'Broken, desperate and humiliated, I entered the house. When I saw Steve and Katherine, my heart felt like it was going to explode in agony. They did not deserve this madness in their lives ...'

Cut off by a dense fog of post-natal depression and anxiety, Hazel Rolston felt pushed beyond the edge. But when the grim voice of Despair offered her the path of suicide, she knew instinctively that this was not God's way for her.

Hazel doesn't offer us a formula for instant escape. But she does remind us that God is there, even if our feelings say the opposite. No matter how bad things feel, God is faithful to his wounded, broken people beyond the edge.

MY REVIEW

It is always good to know you aren't the only one who has struggled with this. I survived 3 bouts of serious post-partum (or post-natal) depression and really have only felt "back to normal" for a few months. Hazel is incredibly open with her struggle and I really appreciated her honesty. If you are experiencing post-partum depression or know someone who is than Beyond the Edge would be a great book for you to read.

I haven't experienced serious postpartum depression, but close enough that I could understand someone going through it to some extent. Sounds like a fascinating book.

I have never experienced postpartum depression but I had a friend who had it mildly. It did go away after only a few months but during the first few months she did not bound with her daughter.

I believe I had post-partum depression mildly, but I didn't know what it was and didn't understand it. I was suppose to be happy and I wasn't. That was with my first born, with my second child I was fine. I would love to read this book. Thank you for this giveaway, Tara, and please count me in.

I had PPD 11 years ago with the birth of my first daughter. It was a difficult experience for me that took me over a year to recover from.
